Matthes to seek vacant
County Commission seat
Port Orchard resident Tim Matthes announced that he is running for the office of Kitsap County Commissioner from District 2. He is seeking to replace Jan Angel, who is leaving that office this year in her bid for State Representative.

Matthes now serves on the county’s Board of Equalization, which arbitrates assessed valuation disagreements between property owners and the County Assessor. Also, Matthes was appointed by Port Orchard Mayor Lary Coppola to the city’s Planning Commission. He is a member and current vice president of the Kitsap Alliance of Property Owners and a member of the Washington State Farm Bureau.
