Bainbridge Island Chamber adds two to staff
The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce has brought on two local professionals to help sharpen its events and bridge the communications gap between business and government.

Elisabeth Gadbois has joined the Chamber as event coordinator. She has extensive experience in business and is a gifted photographer. Gadbois owns and operates Winslow Contemporary Arts, which places artists’ works in studios and at shows and events.

“Liz is going to be an incredible asset to the Chamber,” said Executive Director Kevin Dwyer. She will assist Chamber staff and volunteers on upcoming events and special projects, such as the annual Home & Garden Show, the Grand Old Fourth of July and others.

Meanwhile, the Chamber has retained the services of John Waldo to serve in the newly created position of government relations coordinator. Waldo is an island attorney and a former reporter with The Bainbridge Review. He ran for City Council last election season and has been involved as a private citizen in issues ranging from Winslow Tomorrow to land use.

“We want to continue to create a sustainable and vibrant economy on Bainbridge Island,” said Dwyer. “In order to do, we need a pro-active voice stressing the proper balance between the economy and the environment. We think John Waldo can provide that voice in an even, fair, and straight-forward manner.” Both Gadbois and Waldo will work in a part-time capacity.
