AMB Financial Services Corporation, the holding company for American Marine Bank, recently welcomed Patty Lent and Bill Benson to its board of directors. The two new members were appointed by the Board during their September meeting and will be formally nominated for election during the annual shareholder meeting in April of 2008.
Lent, a former Kitsap County Commissioner, has been an active participant in civic organizations for over 15 years. Her service includes vice chair of the Kitsap County Board of Health, vice chair of the Kitsap Transit Board, board member of the Bremerton Central Lions, past president of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Zumwalt Guild and a former director of the Navy League of the United States, Bremerton-Olympic Peninsula Council. As County Commissioner, Lent worked to control government spending, promote job development, relieve traffic congestion, provide affordable housing and protect natural resources.
Benson founded of Nuts About Hi-Fi, a high-end audio sales and installation company in Silverdale back in the 1970s. The firms Silverdale Way locations was a landmark for almost two decades, known for its towering, 3-story, functional speakers. The site is now home to Americans Marines Silverdale branch.
In 2004, Benson purchased Posh Speaker Systems on Bainbridge Island, a business that designs and manufactures quality home and commercial speakers. Clients include Nordstrom, Macys, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Banner Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, Victorias Secret and Pier 1 Imports. Recently, Benson sold the Nuts About Hi-Fi business to focus on the rapidly expanding Posh Speaker Systems business. Besides his active sponsorship of community events and fundraisers, Benson has served as board member and club administrator for the East Bremerton Rotary Club, board member for the Kitsap County Red Cross and member of the board and development committee for Harrison Medical Center Foundation.
