McCabe new AWB Director
of Environmental Policy

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) named Chris McCabe as its new governmental affairs director of environmental policy, specializing in land use and water rights. McCabe brings 15 years of experience in governmental affairs and more than six years of experience as a land use attorney.

“Chris' experience as a land use attorney will enhance AWB's ability to serve our members,” AWB President Don Brunell said. “Land use and water rights are two critical issues that require specialized knowledge. McCabe brings that knowledge to AWB and we are delighted that he is joining our staff.”

Prior to joining AWB, McCabe practiced as a land use attorney in Olympia. He graduated from Michigan State University Law School in 1999, and received his B.A. in political science from Washington State University. Prior to attending law school in Michigan, McCabe worked in Washington D.C. as a legislative assistant to former Alaska Senator Frank Murkowski until the mid 1990s when he worked for former Washington State Rep. Tim Hickel, R-Federal Way.
