Angel selected for leadership training

Kitsap County Commissioner Jan Angel will attend the New York University Robert F. Wagner County Leadership Institute, June 1-4. Angel is one of only 30 people selected to participate and the only government official from Washington State to be chosen.

“This is an opportunity to learn by looking past our borders, beyond what we currently think, to find innovative answers by seeing what other counties have found to work even better,” said Angel.

Angel, who has a background in banking, business and real estate, plans to use newly acquired information from actual case studies and current literature on business to support her role in regional economic development efforts. These include the seven county broadband project and work with the Puget Sound Regional Council Economic Development District where she serves as a member of the Executive Board. She is also a former board member of the Kitsap Economic Development Council (KEDC).

Angel was nominated by the Washington Association of Counties for the program and then the final selection was confirmed by the National Association of Counties (NACo). She received a tuition scholarship of $850.
