KMHS’ Carter to lead
state mental health group

Gary Carter, a County Designated Mental Health Professional (CDMHP) with Kitsap Mental Health Services has been voted to a two-year term as president-elect of the Washington Association of CDMHPs for 2004-2006. CDMHPs are the mental health professionals responsible for the implementation of the Voluntary Treatment Act (the state civil law), determining whether a person has a mental disorder and meets the legal criteria for involuntary detainment. The Association supports the work of County Designated Mental Health Professionals throughout the State of Washington by providing training and education programs and by interfacing with other mental health service providers.
