KPS Health Plans recently named Mary Jane “M.J.” Jordan the company’s Employee of the Year for 2002.

Jordan has worked for KPS since 1997. She began her career with the Bremerton-based insurance carrier as a service representative and from there moved into the Technical Services Department as a project management coordinator. She quickly moved into the higher-level position of application administrator, and today, she provides support, maintenance, and growth of the company’s computer information systems and network environment in her position as system administrator.

It was a unanimous 12-0 vote.

“M.J.’s flexibility and dedication to maintaining a positive working environment when under pressure is to be commended,” Rachel Aest, KPS Human Resources manager.

In addition, her work on the Charitable Giving Committee and the Festival of Trees Committee is admired by the entire West Sound community. Her artistic view was on display for the Festival of Trees displays submitted by KPS, earning five awards and ribbons.”

The Festival of Trees Committee has contributed a Christmas tree to Harrison Hospital’s Festival of Trees event each year for the 16 years that the event has occurred. KPS’ Charitable Giving Committee was created in 2002 in order to raise funds for several local community causes. M.J. has taken a major role in both of the committees.
