Kitsap County Commissioner Jan Angel was selected by her peers in the Western Washington Division of the Washington Association of Counties as its 2002-03 vice president at its annual meeting in Vancouver Sept. 5.
Association members also participated in several forums at the meeting, including a session on economic development, which was moderated by Angel.
Building strong partnerships with neighboring counties gives Kitsap great advantages, she said.
Angel served the past year as the districts secretary-treasurer. This year, as vice president, she will be directly involved with setting the districts agenda and will continue to serve on the statewide Association board of directors.
Angel was only one of the three Kitsap county commissioners to participate as a panel member.
All of the sessions were extremely insightful, and gave us plenty of ideas to apply to our own operations, Angel said. Some of the ideas, such as extending our replacement schedule for fleet vehicles, can be implemented right now, saving tax dollars.. |
