Rep. Beverly Woods (R-Poulsbo) has been elected House Republican Whip, putting her in charge of day-to-day actions of Republicans in the House chamber during the 2002 legislative session. It is one of the top leadership positions in the Republican caucus.

As whip, Woods’ duties will include initiating and responding to parliamentary actions, and anticipating and tracking action on the House floor. She will work with ranking Republican committee members to coordinate legislation requested by executive-branch and regulatory agencies, help communicate proposed policies to caucus members, and coordinate the development of communication channels with county Republican Party officers.
