The only thing in this world that is constant is change. And as you have no doubt noticed, we have put a new face on your Business Journal. Therefore, it only seemed appropriate to tell you about it here on the Names and Faces page.
Obviously, the most noticeable change is the size. Although we preferred the old size, the change was dictated to us by the printing industry. Our old size is considered a dinosaur in todays publishing world and we were basically given two choices change to what is becoming the industry standard, or face steep price increases which would translate into substantially higher advertising rates.
However, this size offers us a number of options we didnt have previously, including the ability to print locally, much faster turnaround which means quicker delivery to you, as well as more color among others.
We have kept our regular departments Names and Faces, Newsmakers, Database, Your Money, Real Estate and Construction, Behind The Wheel, A Conversation With, and the Arts and Health pages as well as our popular opinion pages although we have redesigned our graphics somewhat. Plus, we have added a page dedicated to environmental issues.
We have also expanded our most popular feature, Winners in Business, and renamed it Profiles Of Success. We did this so we wouldnt be restricted to only business owners, but could include the people who manage the local branches of larger companies as well as non-profits and in some cases government. We believe this will give us a broader perspective of success in our community.
Although we have a new look and have made a number of changes, one thing remains unchanged our commitment to you, our readers. Our customer service, production, and editorial staff will continue to work as hard as we can to bring you best local business news coverage available in Kitsap County.
We hope youll like what weve done and welcome your feedback. |
