The Washington Credit Union League has honored Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union (KCFCU) board member Bill Stremel as the state’s “Outstanding Credit Union Volunteer” of the year for 2000.

Stremel, who has dedicated himself to working for opportunity for persons with disabilities, was recognized for his 21 plus years of dedication to KCFCU members and residents of the Greater Kitsap Peninsula community. He has been instrumental in working with KCFCU to ensure all its buildings are easily accessible to persons with physical disabilities.

Since retiring from PSNS, Stremel has worked to establish the KCFCU Educational Grants Foundation, which awarded its first five tuition grants earlier this year.
