Endresen endorsed by
environmental activist group

The Seattle-based Washington Conservation Voters have endorsed Kitsap County Commissioner Chris Endresen for a second term. The group supported Endresen in her first campaign and announced it was “more than happy with her performance.”

The group hailed the Poulsbo Democrat “as a leader in environmental protection issues,” lauding plans to continue her city-by-city approach to meeting the challenges of the Endangered Species Act.

The liberal environmental action organization also praised Endresen for her efforts “to ensure that precious sites like the Point No Point Lighthouse and adjoining property in Silverdale and Anderson Cove Landing in South Kitsap are preserved for future generations. She has also worked on a fast-track plan to acquire the Banner Forest and Illahee Department of Natural Resources (DNR) lands, and has built partnerships to secure land for youth activities.”

The Washington Conservation Voters works to elect environmentally-friendly public officials, and hold them accountable to its agenda on a statewide level. Current legislative priorities include air and water pollution, salmon restoration, suburban sprawl, transportation and toxic waste issues.
