County Clerk Dean Logan recently returned home after serving as a delegate on a U.S. mission to the Peoples Republic of China. Logan was selected by the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) as part of a bipartisan delegation of seven elected and appointed leaders from around the country for the mission.
The delegation gathered in Washington, DC on April 13 for a series of briefings on the current political and economic issues facing China as well as key issues in US-China relations. The briefings included meetings with key officials at the State Department, Embassies and with past delegates of ACYPLs programs abroad.
The mission arrived in Beijing on April 14 and was met by members of their host organization the All-China Youth Federation. While in China, the delegation had a busy round of meetings and discussions with government and local officials, as well as business leaders, and returned on April 28. |
