Harrison Home Health recognizes

| Harrison Home Health recently recognized Heidi Dixon, a licensed practical nurse (LPN), with its own Star Performer award for 2006. The award singles out Dixon for consistently receiving positive feedback on Home Healths patient-satisfaction surveys.
Dixon is the first recipient of the Harrison Home Health honor, which will be awarded annually award. A Harrison employee since 2005, Dixon will graduate from Olympic Colleges Transition to associates Degree in nursing program in August with plans to become an emergency room nurse.

| Jenny Hoskins, the senior employee benefits advisor and human resources manager for EHL Insurance in Poulsbo, recently earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, following the successful completion of examinations in five insurance disciplines. She also successfully completed her brokers license exam in life and disability in August of 2006.
She joined the agency in 2002 with a previous emphasis in human resources and large group employee benefits. Her specialty at EHL is providing human resources and employee benefits consulting with the goal of reducing the clients administrative burden and ultimately improving the companys profitability.

| Amanda Murdock has taken the position of marketing manager at Peninsula Gardens. After graduating from Arizona State University in 2006 with a BA in communications, she moved to Gig Harbor. Murdocks previous experience includes the Phoenix Childrens Hospitals communications department and Macys public relations department in Seattle.
For Peninsula Gardens she will continue with its ongoing local advertising campaign as well as developing a television campaign with Comcast. She is creating an events schedule that includes new classes like Back-Friendly Gardening, and Building a Wildlife Sanctuary as well as Container Gardening and Water Feature Development. She is also looking to develop a Kids Gardening Club to encourage an interest in nature and gardening among elementary students.

| Cindy Hill, a market distribution leader for Allstate Insurance Companys Northwest Region, was recently recognized by the company for her outstanding leadership and has received the 2006 Allstate Key Manager award. The award recognizes leaders who have accomplished their sales goals throughout the year by effectively working with and providing consultation to Allstate agencies in markets they oversee.

Fuller awarded ACF Chef of the Year honors |
| Gary Fuller, co-owner of the Two Snooty Chefs Gourmet Spice Company and program manager of West Sound Tech Culinary Arts Program, has received the prestigious Chef of the Year award from the American Culinary Federation of the Washington State Chefs Association.
Fuller is one of seven chefs who can certify other chefs and cooks in the State of Washington. He is also a member of the ACF Foundation Accreditation Commission, and Chairman of its finance committee. Fuller has been teaching Culinary Arts for 20 years at West Sound Tech. His students have won over $200,000.00 in scholarships and have won over 100 medals competing in SkillsUSA competitions.

Porter joins CTED staff |
| The Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development (CTED) recently announced that David Porter recently joined its staff as a business development manager. The position is a temporary appointment to help handle the growing workload of backlogged investment cases. It is expected that he will be with CTED through June 30.
Porter brings a wealth of business and economic development experience to CTED. Most recently he served the executive director of the Kitsap EDC. Prior to that he also served as the director of marketing and business development for the EDC of Snohomish County (1986-1996). His career also includes holding senior-level economic development positions in Virginia, both in Roanoke and Fairfax Counties.

| Kitsap County Fire Chiefs Association recently announced that Fire Chief Wayne Senter was named president of the Kitsap County Fire Chiefs Association (KCFCA) effective Jan. 1. The KCFCA represents the fire departments within Kitsap County on matters of mutual concern and in the best interest of providing better emergency fire and medical services for the citizens of Kitsap County.
Chief Senter has served as South Kitsap Fire and Rescues Fire Chief since Dec. 1, 2004 and was previously the Assistant Fire Chief of Support Services for SKFR since 1997. He currently serves as the vice-president of the Washington Fire Chiefs Association and as an executive board member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fire and Life Safety Section.

| The New York Times recently honored Kitsap Regional Library librarian, Cynthia (Cindy) Harrison, Branch Manager at the Bainbridge Island Library, at a ceremony in New York. She was nominated by community volunteer, Val Tollefson and others and is one of only 25 winners of this very prestigious award. The New York Times received over 1,300 nominations from 45 states for this years honors.
Harrison received her library degree from Western Michigan University. She has worked as an academic reference librarian at Norwich University, developed a library for the Vermont Department of Social Services and been a Research Librarian for the National Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She moved to the Northwest and worked for Seattle Public Library for a few years before beginning her eighteen-year tenure at Kitsap Regional Library.

| IslandWood, an outdoor learning center on Bainbridge Island, has appointed Ken Mundt as director of community engagement. Mundt joins IslandWood most recently from New Futures, a South King County non-profit, which partners with children and families who live in poverty to create new futures for them and their communities. | Roger Fitzpatrick, vice president and compliance officer at Kitsap Bank, was recently awarded the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a nonprofit organization sponsored by the American Bankers Association.
Fitzpatrick has been in the banking industry for 21 years. During his nine years at Kitsap Bank, he has held the positions of assistant auditor, branch manager, compliance officer and certified bank auditor.

Bainbridge Island Rotary honors Tom Pugh |
| The Bainbridge Island Rotary Club recently honored Tom Pugh by showcasing his career as one of the original test pilots and later a mission pilot of one of Americas once most secret spy plane, known today as the SR-71 Blackbird.
Pughs former Air Force friends and colleagues shared stories about the aircraft and Pughs history as one of the earliest pilots to take this plane to the very edge of space. Flying at 80,000 feet, SR-71 pilots could see the curvature of the earth. Traveling at over 2,200 miles per hour, the skin of the craft expands several inches and becomes so hot from air friction that one could not approach the plane for some time upon landing.

Financial advisor earns expert certification |
| Gary L. Imel, financial advisor for Integrated Financial Services, LLC in Gig Harbor, has earned the designation of Certified Liability Advisor. He completed a two-day training event held in North Carolina.
The program involved various liability management concepts, strategies, and case studies. Completion of the training allows him to provide consumer advice on how to best build wealth through the effective management of liabilities. Stevens returns to the Kitsap Sun |
| The Kitsap Sun welcomed back a familiar face with the return of former Advertising Director Mike Stevens. Stevens previously held the post from 1989-93. Kitsap Sun Publisher Mike Levi said the return of Stevens offers the company the best of both worlds. Mike knows this community and also has the advantage of having experience at newspapers all over the country.
Stevens has worked for the Knoxville News-Sentinel, the Seattle Times and the Colorado Springs Sun, and was most recently vice president of sales for the King County Journal. Stevens said his interest in returning to Kitsap stems from the regions opportunity for business growth.
