Tippets earns PHR honors |
Melissa Tippets, Human Resources and Operations manager for DONOBi, Inc. of Bremerton recently earned the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) distinction from the Society of Human Resource Management.
Tippets, a member of the Leadership Kitsap program for 2004-2005, successfully completed and passed a nationwide exam given by the Human Resource Certification Institute in Alexandria, Virginia.

Pearson honored by East Bremerton Rotary |
Barbara Pearson, administrator of Claremont East Assisted Living, has been honored by the East Bremerton Rotary as the Rotarian of the Year. This is only the third time in the history of the club that a woman has received this prestigious honor.
Pearson was chosen for you work as the chair of the Rotarys Blast from the Past annual fundraising event. $22,000 was netted by this event to continue the work that Rotary does every year.

Martha & Mary trustee honored
as WAHSA Volunteer of the Year |
Gordon Stenman, longtime Trustee for Martha & Mary in Poulsbo, was awarded the honor of Trustee of the Year by the Washington Association of Housing & Services for the Aging (WAHSA) at its recent 53rd Annual Conferences Awards for Excellence Ceremony held in Tacoma.
Stenman has volunteered over 27 years at Martha & Mary, 22 years of that time serving in a board capacity. He most recently served as president of the Martha & Mary Lutheran Services board.
In 2003, Stenman was also recognized as Volunteer of the Year for the National Association of Activity Professionals.

Amy Burnett opens second gallery location |
Amy Burnett has opened a second art gallery on Callow Ave. in the oldest Kitsap County Township. The Charleston District was established before Bremerton and then merged.
The new store is located by the Moeller Street clock. It will only be open Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. 6 p.m. Burnett will be featuring retro jewelry that is displayed and sold in collectable Moeller labeled jewelry boxes. She is buying or accepting donated old jewelry.

Kitsap County State Representative Beverly Woods (R-Poulsbo) recently received the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) primary election endorsement.
Woods racked up a perfect, 100-percent, pro-small business voting record in the last session of the legislature.
