Howard honored by N.W. Care Management
Bainbridge Island’s Northwest Care Management, Inc. recently recognized Sigrid Howard, administrator of Liberty Shores Assisted Living Community and Harbor House Alzheimer’s Community in Poulsbo, as its Administrator of the Year for 2001.

Howard received the honor because of her role in spearheading Liberty Shores’ deficiency-free inspections by the state for the past five years, superior financial, quality assurance, and customer service results during 2001.

Hitchings named ad manager at Kitsap Newspaper Group
Lisa Hitchings, Senior Marketing Representative, was promoted to Advertising Manager of the Central Kitsap Reporter and Bremerton Patriot.

She has been with Kitsap Newspaper Group since October, 1992 and moved into the marketing department of the Central Kitsap Reporter in April of 1995.

Hartman named as new floral design specialist
Gary Hartman, whose work has been featured in National Home Builders Magazine and who has done stage set work for various local theaters and churches, has joined Peninsula Gardens as a design specialist. He will be tasked with designing upscale silk and live floral arrangements and creating scenarios throughout the store.

Hartman is a graduate of the Floral Institute of Seattle.

Bentryn’s celebrate 25 years in winery business
Joanne and Gerard Bentryn are celebrating 25 years of owning and operating Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery. The grapes are grown on the Winery grounds at 682 State Highway 305 and on farm land on Day Road East.

The Bentryn’s love affair with growing grapes and processing them into wine now includes son Ian, who is an integral part of the family-run business.

Alvarado recognized by State Treasurer
   State Treasurer Mike Murphy recently awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Paulette Alvarado at her retirement party on July 19 — “In recognition of 25 years of dedicated service and serving the citizens of Poulsbo and Washington State.” Murphy said this was only the third such award to be given since he has been in office. Alvarado is running for the position of Kitsap County Treasurer.
