Local state employee honored with award |
| Kitsap County Department of Social and Health Services assistant Barbara Bartlett has received a $75 award from the state’s Employee Suggestion Brainstorm program. She submitted an idea that helped to streamline operations and save the state money. |

Local Liberty Tax franchisee honored |
Ken Wilkinson, who owns Liberty Tax Service offices in Bremerton and Silverdale, has been named as Franchisee of the Year for the 1999-2000 tax season by the company.
He was selected from the 400 U.S. and Canadian Liberty Tax Service franchises based on outstanding performance and customer service. |

New officers, managers at Kitsap Regional Library |
The Kitsap Regional Library’s Board of Trustees recently elected two new officers. Bremerton insurance broker Tim Quigley was elected president and Chrls Wendelyn was elected vice president.
Sara Scribner and Barbara Stevens have also joined the management team at the Library. Scribner has been named head of reference and information services and Stevens has been appointed as Silverdale branch manager. |

Humane Society honors Lemont |
The Kitsap Humane Society, recently honored maintenance supervisor Gerry Lemont as its Employee of the Quarter.
Lemont was selected based on his ability to be a team player and willingness to help others. |

Business people honored on Bainbridge |
The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce’s Businessperson of the Year, John Rudolph, was honored at a luncheon held at the Wing Point Golf & Country Club on May 18.
Also honored were the late Pauline Deschamps and the late Louis Goller. Goller founded American Marine Bank, and Deschamps owned Deschamps Real Estate. Both were very active for many years in the island business community before their recent deaths. |

Debra Laudenslager, Human Resources Director for Paratransit Services, recently earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation.
The certification is presented by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), the credentialing body for the Human Resource profession. |

GEICO Direct honors Krieger |
Kevin Krieger has been recognized as the most Outstanding New GEICO Direct Representative in the nation for 1999 by GEICO Direct Insurance.
Krieger, who represents the company in Silverdale from offices in Ross Plaza, was honored for his sales production, service to clients, technical expertise and management ability. He joined the firm in June of last year.
