Kitsap Credit Union (KCU) and its vendor/partner, JayRay, have received the prestigious Totem Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) recognizing their 2007 Working Together for a Healthy Tomorrow campaign as the best community outreach program in the Greater Puget Sound.
A Totem Award is the highest honor bestowed on any public relations program in Washington State and is merited only in cases where a program is a model, setting the highest standard of communications professionalism. It is judged by accredited public relations professionals, scored by the entrants demonstrated use of expertise in research, planning, execution and results evaluation.
The President of JayRay, Kurt Jacobson, presented the award to Kitsap Credit Unions Board Chair, Dave Anderson, and CEO, Elliot Gregg and expressed, gratitude for the teamwork that garnered the highly esteemed honor, the contributions of the immensely talented Kitsap Credit Union staff, and the wisdom of the KCU Board and Management in fully supporting the elements of the campaign.The 2007 Healthy Tomorrow Campaign focused on the credit union Board of Directors recommendation to change from a federal to a state charter. As a financial cooperative, members have a say in how the credit union is operated by voting on issues of significance, such as a change in charters. As a result of the Working Together for a Healthy Tomorrow Campaign, KCU members recognized the value and the vote passed with over 72 percent of the voters in favor. |
