| Barbara J. Whitesitt, trust administrative officer for American Marine Bank, was recently awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB). She has been with American Marine Bank’s Trust Department since 2004 and has a substantial background in trust and estate administration. Whitesitt is also an honors graduate of the Cannon Trust School. American Marine Bank is one of the only local community banks to operating a Trust Department.
To qualify, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, personal financial planning, tax law, investment management and ethics.
