G.H. Chamber to hosts “Action Session"
for economic development
   The Gig Harbor Peninsula Area Chamber of Commerce will host an economic development "Action Session" on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cottesmore of Life Care, located at 2909 14th Ave NW in Gig Harbor. The Action Session is designed to enable community residents and businesses to share their talents and skills in helping drive economic development for Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area. Noted author, consultant, and community developer Luther K. Snow is scheduled to lead a "roll-up-your-sleeves" session focused on how to build on a foundation of community strength and networks to promote economic development, job creation, and business opportunities.

“We can leverage the assets we have to drive our own future, to get things done, and to protect and strengthen Gig Harbor and the Peninsula area as the wonderful place we all know and love,” said Kim D.E.D. Hails, chamber executive director.

Luther K. Snow is a specialist in action-oriented community facilitation. He has over 30 years' experience in community economic development, and is a consultant, speaker, and facilitator to communities all over the United States and Canada. Snow is a member of the faculty of the Asset-Based Community Development Institute, the international pioneers of strength-based approaches to economic development based at Northwestern University.

Chamber members and the public are encouraged to participate in the action session. A follow-up session is planned to begin implementation of the ideas generated from this key development meeting. For information, call the chamber at 253-851-6865.
