The Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) announced that Senator Tim Sheldon is one of four legislators who have been selected as the first recipients of the organizations annual WEDA LEADER appreciation award. The WEDA board of directors created this new honor during its July annual meeting to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of certain legislators to improve the economy of Washington State. Tracy stated, The recent improvements to our states economy, is in large part due to the leadership shown by these legislators. Their effort has sent the message that Washington State is eager to attract new jobs and industries to our communities.
The recognition award was presented to Sheldon on Aug. 4th. WEDA is an economic development professionals organization that seeks to stimulate the economic vitality of the state at the local community level and is made up of members from cities, counties, ports, PDAs, utilities, EDCs and private business leaders committed to economic development statewide. Other recipients of the LEADER appreciation award include Senator Joe Zarelli, Representative Velma Veloria and Representative Mary Skinner. |
