The Sixth Annual Celebration of Philanthropy will be held Thursday, May 13th at 6 p.m. at Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, to recognize local individuals and businesses for their contributions of time and resources to benefit the community.

Recent past recipients include Chuck and Joanne Haselwood, the Gehring Family, Paul and Debbi Brainerd, and Dr. Pankaj Sharma. The event is the Kitsap Community Foundation’s signature fundraiser – sharing the joys of giving with the community and the purpose of the community foundation – to provide a flexible, efficient vehicle for local philanthropy. This year’s award recipients are:

• Community Volunteer Award: Joan and Louis Soriano.
• Business Award: Debbie and Steve Hill, Hill Moving Services.
• Hannah Langer Spirit of Philanthropy Award: Dr. Heather Carrell, Claudia Fogle, Jane Ritley, and in absentia, Leslie Barry Connors.

   The event includes Kiana Lodge’s signature salmon dinner, a dessert auction and entertainment by comedian Kermet Apio.
