Saturday, Jan. 24 is the date of the Money Wi$e Women Forum at the new Olympic College campus in Poulsbo. The seminar runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers a choice of four breakout sessions. Theres also a lunchtime presentation on action steps to achieve financial fitness, minimizing the risk of identity theft and the importance of Social Security. There is also information on investment basics and making sense of the madness. Understanding the difference in mutual funds, money markets, stocks and bonds.
The four one-hour breakout sessions include:
- Developing a spending and debt reduction plan.
- What about long-term care and life insurance? Protecting your family, wills and estate planning, funding your childs education through Washington States Guaranteed Education Tuition program.
- Understanding your automobile and homeowners insurance.
- Why your credit report and credit score are important.
Marcia Brixey presents Money Wi$e Women forums throughout the Puget Sound area. She teaches classes at the Womens Business Center in Seattle and the Central Kitsap Community Schools in Silverdale. Marcia also hosts Overcoming Underearning workshops with author, Barbara Stanny. She also authors the Money Wi$e Women column in The Sun newspaper every other Sunday and writes regular columns for VerveWomen magazine, a Puget Sound womens magazine.
