UW project management course on Bainbridge

The Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce will once again partner with the University of Washington in the 2003-2004 academic year to offer the UW Project Management Certificate Program on Bainbridge Island.

The eight-month program is a comprehensive examination of project management processes, integrating technical tools with leadership and team communications skills. Classes meet two evenings a week over a nine-week period in each quarter. Participants work in teams to develop real-life projects or documented project management processes as they acquire new tools and concepts and progress from course to course.

“This is a great opportunity for business people on Bainbridge Island and throughout Kitsap County to get expert instruction in a discipline that is becoming essential to success in the business world,” said Bainbridge Chamber Executive Director Kevin Dwyer.

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings, 6:30-9 p.m. from Oct. 2 to May 20, at Bainbridge High School. Tuition for the entire program is $3210, excluding the certificate program and registration fees, and textbooks.

A special information meeting is scheduled for Sep. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Bainbridge High School. Applications are available at the Chamber office, www.bainbridgechamber.com, or by calling (206) 842-3700.
