On Saturday Sept. 20, the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce will recognize businesses and individuals who have made a significant impact on the growth and development of Silverdale and Central Kitsap County.
The event will take place at an awards banquet at Kitsap Golf and Country Club,
The nomination committee solicited names of individuals from within the community who have by dedication, stewardship and resources, left an indelible mark on the community. The finalists for the four awards are as follows:
Business of the Year: Sponsored by Central Kitsap Reporter
- Red Robin
- Costco Wholesale Warehouse
- Red Lobster
The nominees for this award are businesses which have, through financial and in-kind resources made a significant impact on the Silverdale Communitys economic and social well-being and whose management has taken an active leadership role in the community and encouraged and allowed staff to take part in efforts to promote and improve the community.
Business Pioneer of the Year: Sponsored by Kitsap Credit Union

In selecting nominees for this award the community was asked to tender nominee businesses that existed prior to the Mall construction (1980 or before), that have been in continuous operation for five or more years, but did not have to be in business currently. Nominees did not have to be Chamber members. Ideal candidates are family/locally owned.
Citizen of the Year: Sponsored by the Red Lion Hotel

Nominees for this award are individuals who have made a significant contribution through time, energy and talent towards developing a sense of community in Silverdale. The nominees need not be a Chamber Member.
Paul G Linder Service Award for Chamber Member of the Year: Sponsored by Puget Sound Energy

Nominees for this award are member businesses who have a significant record of service and diligence to the Chamber within the past 12 months.
Contributions have come from the area of time, talent and resources.
The evenings events will be M.C.d by Seattle-based comedian Brad Upton. Joel Benoliel, Senior Vice President for Costco will be the keynote speaker.
