NYIB honors KCFCU’s Brorson
   The National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB), a national committee comprised of credit union professionals, has awarded Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union Marketing Specialist, Cathy Brorson, the 2002 Robert L. Curry Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to one individual for outstanding contributions in the area of youth financial literacy efforts. Brorson will use the scholarship to attend the NYIB Convention in Madison, Wis. in August as the Washington State delegate.

Brorson was recognized for her outstanding participation in youth financial literacy efforts both locally and statewide. She currently teaches financial education at four local elementary school and four secondary schools reaching both junior high and senior high students. She also oversees KCFCU’s Kid’s Club, a savings program designed for youth ages 0 to 12 focusing on the importance of saving, and Varsity Checking, a fee-free checking program for young adults ages 13-18 designed to educate members on all aspects of good money management. Additionally, Brorson serves as the Chairperson for the Credit Union Youth Development Council of Washington (CUYDC) through the Washington Credit Union League.
