Remind employees of company storm policy
   It’s never too early to remind employees about your company’s winter storm policies. Review the procedures to follow when snow falls or ice begins to form.
• Clearly state the company’s position on emergency closings.
• Explain what employees should do to find out about closings.
• Identify the “essential” and “nonessential” personnel likely to be impacted.
• Explain what employees should do if they can’t get to work due to hazardous conditions.
• Indicate what workers already at work are to do in a weather emergency.
• Decide if closures can be made up by vacation, sick or extra work on another day.
• Remember the docking restrictions on exempt employees.
• Be Flexible.
