Timberland Bank opens in Gig Harbor |
Michael R. Sand, President of Timberland Bank recently announced the opening of a new branch in Gig Harbor. The full service branch is the 16th office for Timberland and the fifth branch located in Pierce County.

Venture Bank to sell seven branches
Latest move in Ventures strategic plan for focused growth |
Publicly-held Venture Financial Group, Inc., the parent company of Venture Bank, which operates a branch in Gig Harbor, recently announced it has signed an agreement to sell seven branches in three counties to Timberland Bank.
The move was billed as part of Ventures strategic plan for focused growth along the I-5 corridor.
Terms of the purchase and assumption agreement call for the sale of Venture Bank branches in Toledo and Winlock, in Lewis County; Elma, Montesano, Hoquiam and Aberdeen, in Grays Harbor County; and the Panorama City branch in Olympia, in a single transaction.
The sale, approved by the Banks Board of Directors, is subject to customary regulatory approval, and is anticipated to close in Q3 of this year. |

WFL elects McCormick chair |
Karen L. McCormick, president and chief executive officer of First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Port Angeles, which operates a mortgage office in Poulsbo, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Washington Financial League (WFL). The WFL is a trade group representing all savings and loan associations and savings banks with offices in the state of Washington, as well as several community banks. Her term runs from July 2004 through June 2005.
McCormick began her career in 1977 at First Federal as a teller. Over the past 27 years she has held numerous positions, including branch manager, compliance officer, and director of lending. In 1997 she was named president and chief executive officer. |

Cindy Reuter has been named manager for Wells Fargos Port Orchard store located at 1488 Olney St. SE. She will lead a nine-member team, after most recently serving as a manager for Wells Fargos West Seattle store. Reuter began her financial services career in 2002 as a branch manager for U.S. Bank.
Michael Cruz has been named manager for Wells Fargos Gig Harbor store at 5501 Soundview Dr. Cruz heads a 12-member team there and most recently served as a manager in Wells Fargos Puyallup store after previously working as a district manager for a retail camera manufacturer.
