IRS increases mileage rates |
The optional standard mileage rates for deducting automobile costs for business purposes increased from 32.5 cents per mile to 34.5 cents per mile for 2001, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) said recently.
The IRS said taxpayers opting to use the standard mile rate may deduct parking fees and tolls as separate expenses. |

Frontier dividend increases 39 percent |
Frontier Financial Corporation, the Everett-based holding company for Frontier Bank, has paid a $.125 per share cash dividend to share holders on January 22. This quarterly dividend represents a 39 percent increase over first quarter of 2000 and, when annualized, a 19 percent increase over $.42 paid in 2000, said Bob Dickson, President and CEO.
Frontier Bank operates thirty-four banking offices in Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson, King, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom Counties. |
