Captain Daniel Peters,

Captain Peters is currently assigned as Commander, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, five Meritorious Service Medals, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Under Captain Peters’ leadership, PSNS & IMF has completed more than 70 intermediate and depot level ship availabilities, Building 50 was moved to downtown Bremerton and is now the home of the Puget Sound Navy Museum, approximately 12,000 family and friends visited PSNS for the 2007 Family Day, OSHA awarded the Volunteer Protection Program Star Site Flag in 2006 and the Combined Federal Campaign raised more than $2.7 million between 2006 and 2007.

The Hyas Tyee Awards ceremony is based on long-established tradition that honors the recipients in a non-traditional manner — they’re “roasted.” Recipients select two friends, associates or family members to share rare insights and provide for a memorable evening. The evening is filled with laughter and gives recipients an opportunity to show their lighter side.

The Hyas Tyee Awards Banquet takes place on Thurs., April 17 at the Kitsap Golf and Country Club. Social time begins at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.

The cost of the event is $50 per person or $500 for a sponsored table of eight if reserved by April 3. Table sponsors receive preferential reserved seating, recognition at the event and two bottles of wine. Limited seating will be available April 3 – 10; however, the price increases to $60 per person.
