Bremerton Symphony Association names
new executive director
Gena Wales
Bremerton Symphony Association Board President Holly James recently announced that Gena Wales, formerly education director of the Bremerton Symphony Association (BSA) and business manager for the Bremerton Symphony Youth Orchestra (BSYO), has been promoted to executive director of the BSA. She will function as CEO for the BSA, encompassing administrative and policy oversight, fiscal management and legal compliance, and human resource management for the BSA.

“Bringing Gena Wales on as the Bremerton Symphony Association’s new executive director is a great step forward for our organization, stated Music Director Elizabeth Stoyanovich. “Gena knows our staff, board and volunteers inside and out; she has served successfully as our education director and BSYO Manager for the last couple of years. She has also been a vital part of the greater Bremerton community for a couple of decades, growing up here and now raising a family. She is very active with Rotary and PTA as well.”

Wales will be administrating the BSA staff and controlling daily operations, allowing the popular Stoyanovich to completely focus on the artistic side of the BSA — especially in light of its critical need to find new rehearsal and office space.

“This important management step will allow us to grow and move forward. With the infusion of her leadership, I am looking forward to a very positive future for the BSA and our community,” Stoyanovich added.
