American Marine Bank cooks
for local food banks
American Marine Bank (AMB) has raised over $1,700 during the holiday season for local food banks. The funds will be distributed to food banks throughout Kitsap and Clallam Counties including Helpline House, Fishline, Central Kitsap Food Bank, Kingston Food Bank and Port Angeles Food Bank.

Each year, the bank produces a cookbook called “AMB Cooks” created in-house by employees who contribute their favorite recipes. The bank chose to print extra copies and sell the books at their branches with proceeds going to local food banks.

The Poulsbo office rallied the AMB troops by offering up a challenge to other branches for the most sales. The winner of the friendly competition was treated to breakfast from the loosing team.

“The idea started out as a simple way to raise money for the food banks, and it soon turned into a fun competition between our branches,” said Judy Thorpe, vice president marketing. Due to the success of the campaign, the bank plans to produce another cookbook later this year for the holiday season.
