St. Anthony’s Hospital begins recruiting
St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor has started recruiting for several key positions at the new hospital, expected to open in early 2009. Franciscan Health System has begun accepting applications online for the St. Anthony Hospital positions of chief operating officer, director of perioperative services, director of acute care services and director of emergency services. The job and their descriptions are posted on the employment section of the Franciscan Web site at www.FHShealth.org.

In the meantime, construction continues with the erecting of steel, which started in mid-October. Truckloads of steel began arriving at the construction site in north Gig Harbor. As many as five truckloads will arrive daily, Monday through Friday, for the next six weeks. Erecting steel for the state-of-the-art hospital is scheduled for completion in mid-December, a construction milestone that will be commemorated with an official “Topping Out” ceremony.

St. Anthony Hospital will have 80 patient beds, and provide a broad range of services, including 24-hour emergency department with 16 treatment rooms; medical, surgical and critical care units; inpatient and outpatient surgery and other procedures; a heart catheterization and vascular laboratory; diagnostic imaging; and physical, speech and occupational therapies.
