Kohl’s announces grand opening
of Silverdale store
As part of its largest grand opening in company history, Kohl’s Department Stores will officially open its Silverdale store Nov. 14. One of 95 stores to open nationwide this fall, the Silverdale store will create approximately 150 jobs in the area. Located at 10315 Silverdale Way, the store is one of seven to open in Washington this fall, bringing the state total to 13. The new store is one of nearly 200 nationwide featuring Kohl’s exciting, newly enhanced look. An inviting exterior welcomes customers with outdoor seating and music. Glass storefront entrances with showcase windows display the latest Kohl’s fashions and automatic doors allow for hands-free entry into each store. Interior amenities include an expanded Juniors’ department, spacious fitting rooms with lounge areas, updated restrooms, and redesigned customer service and checkout stations.

To celebrate this monumental opening and expansion, Kohl’s will offer customers a nationwide, grand opening sale, providing special prices on national and exclusive fashion, home and beauty brands in all of its stores. “Kohl’s customers know they can expect great things from us. We carry world class brands, offer consistent value and convenience and are committed to the communities we serve through Kohl’s Cares for Kids,” said Greg Thomas, Kohl’s district manager. “We are thrilled to celebrate this historical grand opening with our new neighbors.”

To uphold its longstanding tradition of supporting the communities served by its stores, Kohl’s has made a commitment to Silverdale through its Kohl’s Cares for Kids program which is focused on improving the lives of children. Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, Seattle, is a beneficiary of Kohl’s Cares for Kids local fund-raising efforts from the Silverdale store. Throughout the year, Kohl’s sells special Kohl’s Cares for Kids merchandise, with 100 percent of the net profit supporting health and educational opportunities for children. Through 2006, Kohl’s has raised more than $85 million for children’s health and education.

In addition to Kohl’s Cares for Kids, Kohl’s is committed to being a good steward of the environment by seeking ways to conserve resources through energy management and recycling to benefit customers, shareholders and the environment.
