| After more than two years of planning and construction, the Oxford Suites in Silverdale opened in late September. The new all-suite hotel offers 104 luxurious rooms located at the corner of Bucklin Hill Road and Silverdale Way.
Features of the new lodging establishment include an indoor pool and spa with both a steam room and sauna. There’s also a business center, a fitness center, and meeting rooms. Each room comes equipped with its own microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker.
“It’s catering to business people, like the ones coming from Bangor.” stated Cole Aardal, owner of Spiro’s Pizza and Pasta, which is located next door to the hotel. He believes his business, as well as that of some others in the immediate area, will improve with the opening of the hotel. “There will be more people present at night,” he said. “I think that it will benefit the whole area, especially here because of our proximity.”
What makes the Oxford Suites special is that in addition to the complimentary breakfast that is offered by most hotels catering to business clientele, Oxford Suites also hosts an evening reception that includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
