KPS hosts 7th annual
charity golf tourney Sept. 7
The 7th annual KPS Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Sept. 7 at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard. The four-person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m., with prizes. A casual buffet-style dinner will follow.

Proceeds from this event benefit the KPS Charitable Giving Fund. Last year’s tournament raised over $10,000, with $5,000 of this going directly to the Kitsap Community Resources (KCR) Capital Campaign for its new building, which is currently under construction. It not only enabled the KPS Charitable Giving Committee (CGC) to support KCR, but a variety of organizations.

This year the goal is to donate $5,000 of the proceeds to benefit the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Institute (CAPRI) of Kitsap and Mason Counties toward the purchase of two to three Life Fitness Recumbent Bikes.

Participation can include joining the tournament as a golfer, sponsoring a hole or tee, and/or making an in-kind donation for prizes or giveaways. Hole or tee sponsorships include signage with company name and logo at an assigned hole or tee during the golf tournament and will be noted in local newspapers and pre-tournament advertising posters. All sponsors and donations will be noted in the tournament program, in the employee newsletter, at the customer service counters, and on the KPS website.

A complete list of organizations that have benefited from the KPS CGC fund can be found on the website at www.kpshealthplans.com. These donations are made possible entirely through fundraisers such as this golf tournament.
