With the regions stormy season just around the corner, the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management (KCDEM) received a $10,000 grant from Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to help fund streaming videos. The videos are designed to provide citizens with a visual guide to help prepare themselves and their households for potential emergencies.
Were pleased to build on what has become an effective method to inform the Kitsap County community on how to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster, said Terry Oxley, director of Community Services for PSE. KCDEMs use of video technology is a great way to help citizens prepare for any emergency.
At the Kitsap County Emergency Management Council Meeting, Oxley and Linda Streissguth, manager of PSE Government and Community Relations, presented the grant to KCDEM.
PSEs generous donation will help enable every Kitsap citizen who has access to a computer enhance their ability to deal more effectively with hazards and emergencies, said Phyllis Mann, director of KCDEM. |
