Nominations sought for Port Orchard
Chamber Man and Woman of the Year
In 1963 the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce selected the first Man of the Year, Dr. Howard Minor. Since 1963, 68 men and women have been honored as Man and Woman of the Year, for their commitment to the South Kitsap Community. Last year’s Man and Woman of the year were Fire Chief Wayne Senter and Debi Smith.

The Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce invites the community to nominate candidates for the Man and Woman of the Year. The candidate will have donated many hours of service to the organization of their choice for the betterment of the South Kitsap Community. The nominee does not have to be a Chamber member or be associated with a business organization, and can be active in a church or synagogue, a youth organization, a not-for profit organization, fraternal, educational or political organization.

Nomination forms are available at www.portorchard.com or send the candidates name, address, phone number, and email address and a list of their volunteer, professional and/or educational accomplishments and affiliations to:

Include at least two paragraphs on why you believe your candidate should be the Chamber’s Man or Woman of the Year. Nominations are due by Sept. 24. The Man and Woman of the Year awards will be made at the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting and installation banquet in October.
