Builders showcase their best
in annual Parade of Homes

The Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County (HBA) proudly recognized the best work its 500+ members have to offer in its annual Parade of Homes event, which was held the weekend of August 4-5.

The event featured the work of 39 builders and included homes located from Port Orchard to Port Ludlow. The winners were announced at the annual Parade Banquet, held at the Silverdale Hotel on August 17.

The nominations were broken down into price categories that ranged from under $300,000 to $1 million and over. Winners included some familiar names from past Parade events as well as some newcomers.

Winning in the under $300,000 category was Cascade Specialties for its home at 1216 Humphrey Ave. in Bremerton. The next category was $300,000 to $450,000, which was won by American Dream Homes for its offering at 1890 Redwood Place in Port Orchard. Both American Dream Homes and Cascade Specialties are first-time event winners.

JAFA Enterprises, a perennial winner in both the Parade and the REX Awards event for remodelers, took the honors in the $450,000 to $499,000 segment for the home at 7618 Hoogenraad Place in Bremerton, while another repeat winner, Pacific Bay Homes, was honored in the $499,000 to $540,000 category for its entry at 6130 Gleneagle Ave, in McCormick Woods.

Taking the honors in the $545,000 to $599,000 segment was another new name, Pacific Kai Homes for 6241 Krystal Woods Way, in Port Orchard, while another first-time winner, Akamai Homes, Inc. won the $600,000 to $650,000 category with its offering at 9800 NE White Horse Dr. in Kingston.

   
Green Building pioneer Cedar Bay Homes captured the Built Green Award for two homes at 4492 and 4504 Dyes Inlet Road in Central Kitsap.
Three other past winners, Custom Structures, Inc., Ritzman Construction, Inc., and Pristine Homes, LLC were also honored. Custom Structures won for the $651,000 to $700,000 segment with its entry at 8042 E. Aguilar Court in Manchester, while Ritzman and Pristine were declared a tie in the $700,000 to $800,000 category — Ritzman for 4727 NE Rova Rd. in Poulsbo, and Pristine for 259 Caseco Lane in Port Orchard.

Bainbridge Island’s Pacific Heights Construction was recognized in the $800,000 to $1 million class.

Its offering at 682 State Highway 305 on Bainbridge won the judge’s approval, while Landmark, LLC, also of Bainbridge Island, captured top honors in the $1 million and higher segment for its entry at 7850 Ledgestone Loop, on Bainbridge Island.

Best in Show honors went to JAFA Enterprises, Ritzman Construction, and Landmark,LLC for their price category winning entries.

The Built Green Environmental Achievement Award was presented to green building pioneer, and perennial winner in this market segment, Cedar Bay Homes, for its entries at 4492 and 4504 Dyes Inlet Road in Central Kitsap, while another past Parade winner, Central Highlands Builders, was also recognized for its Green-Built offering at 125 Sunset Street in Poulsbo.

There were also four Special Recognition Awards presented. First time winner Central Sound Construction was presented with the outstanding Craftsmanship Award for its entry at 26726 Sunnyview Lane in Kingston, while another novice winner, Grandview Development, Inc. was recognized for the Best Use of Patio and Pavings.

Pristine Homes, LLC captured the award for Unique Design, Finishes & Detail accompanying its Casco Lane class winner, and Habitat for Humanity was honored with the Inspirational, Pride of Ownership Award for its entry on New Hope Circle in Bremerton.
