Previously, Coppola had been endorsed by a long and highly diverse, bi-partisan list of organizations and individuals that runs the gamut from the Kitsap County Central Labor Council, Retired Government Employees of Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula Building Trades Council, traditional Democratic supporters, as well as high-profile local Democrats like Bremerton Mayor Cary Bozeman, Sheriff Steve Boyer, and environmental advocate Kathleen Byrne-Barrantes, to Republicans like Commissioner Jan Angel, County Assessor Jim Avery, past commissioner Patty Lent, former longtime Secretary of State Ralph Munro, and previous State Senator and 2004 candidate for governor, Dino Rossi.
