EMBARQ volunteers earn AWB recognition
EMBARQ was among fourteen companies recently honored for their outstanding community service by the Association of Washington Business (AWB) at its spring board meeting in Spokane.

Each year, the AWB also recognizes companies for being good neighbors in their communities and for investing volunteer and financial resources to improve their corners of the state. EMBARQ was recognized by the AWB for its outstanding commitment to education for The Dictionary Project.

Through this program, EMBARQ purchased age-appropriate dictionaries for every third-grade student within its West Washington, Lower Yakima Valley and Columbia Gorge service areas (as well as throughout its Oregon service areas). Employee volunteers personally delivered them to the children, who were delighted to have their very own dictionary to keep. The Dictionary Project has become an annual community service activity for EMBARQ and its employees.
