Silverdale’s Heads Up Brewery
captures international awards
Heads Up Brewing is celebrating after a record breaking win at the North American Beer Awards. With over 1000 beers from all over the world, three of its beers, Bourbon Barrel Millennium Barley Wine, Sour Brown, and Abbey Style Triple, were selected at the award ceremony in Idaho Falls on June 1.

Gold was awarded to Bourbon Barrel Millennium Barley Wine in the wood flavored beer, Bronze for Sour Brown in the Belgian Flanders Brown category, and an Honorable Mention for the Abbey Style Triple. The Westmalle Trappist Monks took Silver in the latter category and created the style. In 2006, Heads Up received a gold medal for its 9MM in the specialty category.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized as one of the world’s best,” said brewmaster and owner Ted Farmer. “Not only is this a victory for us, it’s one for Washington State, Kitsap County, and certainly Silverdale. We are always pleased to see our successes rewarded.”

“We are known for refining and perfecting our recipes,” continued Jeff Holcomb, “Our beers continue to exceed expectations, and are popular with customers because of their quality and complexity.”
