| United For Washingtons Business Institute held the first ever Business Stars Awards luncheon on June 11, to honor four state lawmakers for their leadership during the 2007 Legislative session on behalf of Washingtons private sector.
The lawmakers, which are the top Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate, include Sen. Tim Sheldon (35th District), Sen. Linda Evans Parlette (12th District), Rep. Mark Ericks (1st District) and Rep. Cary Condotta (12th District).
The private sector jobs in this state are the fuel that powers our states economic engine, said Phil Bussey, sr. vice president, corporate affairs, Puget Sound Energy and current chair, Business Institute of Washington. Without a healthy private sector, which makes our economy robust, our government cant be healthy and the nonprofit sector cant be healthy. These legislators are to be congratulated for their stellar work on behalf of the business community and our entire state.
