| Clean out your closets and help aspiring women and men who are re-entering the workforce to look their best at West Sound Workforces Power of Change: A fashion event! professional clothing drive on Tues., May 15. The event will run from 4-6 p.m. at West Sound Workforces Poulsbo office location at 18819 Third Ave, Ste. 110, and apparel donations will benefit the YWCA of Kitsap Countys professional clothing closet project.
Clothing donations will help promote the economic independence of local area disadvantaged women and men, by providing professional attire for those re-entering the workforce to wear to their interviews and during their first weeks on the job, said Julie Tappero, West Sound Workforce president.
West Sound Workforce is asking for the following donations: interview-ready clothing less than five years old, business suits of all sizes, especially in sizes 16 plus, tailored separates, handbags, briefcases, umbrellas, coats, blouses, tops, skirts, conservative accessories, quality footwear, and unopened pantyhose and makeup.
West Sound Workforce will provide hors doeurves and beverages for those dropping off their apparel donations. New summer fashions will be on display also from local Poulsbo and Kitsap County area retailers.
