| The Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce recently honored those individuals and businesses that make Poulsbo a special place to live and work. Its annual gala and awards banquet culminated in naming Judge Jay B. Roof as the 2006 Person of the Year. Judge Roof was recognized for his dedication over the past decade for his work the Kitsap County Drug Court.
The evening’s festivities also included award winners in several other categories.
- Pearce Dressel Volunteer of the Year: Lee Anderson
- Organization of the Year: Poulsbo Historical Society
- Beautification (New Construction): Brock’s Commons
- Beautification (Renovation): Garrett Steele
- Community Builder Awards: The Community Builder Awards honor those individuals who demonstrate leadership in building goodwill through service and commitment to the community. Honored were Hill Moving; Dr. Gene Medina; Tom Hall; and Dr. Robert Bethel.
