Bainbridge Island Home & Garden Show
set for Mar. 10-11
The popular Bainbridge Island Home & Garden Show has been extended this year to two days and will be held Sat. and Sun. March 10 and 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodward Middle School. The trade-show style event includes exhibits, demonstrations, drawings, and presentations/workshops by local and regional gardening, home building and home improvement experts. Last year, the show drew more than 70 exhibitors and more than 1,500 people.

World–famous horticulturist Dan Hinkley, the former co-owner of Heronswood Nursery in Kingston, is one of the show’s keynote presenters. Hinkley will speak at 1 p.m. on Sun. March 11.  Back by popular demand are Kathleen Victor and Dan Jensen, both certified appraisers, who will analyze household antiques and family heirlooms, as part of their two-day-long “Antique Evaluations By Professional Appraisers” special feature. This will be a unique opportunity for Home & Garden Show participants to receive a verbal approximation of value of antiques and other treasures.

Also is on board are Bainbridge’s own garden art and landscaping celebrities George Little and David Lewis, along with Terry Moyemont and Terri Stanley of Mesogeo Greenhouse, who will discuss how to grow Mediterranean and tropical plants in the Northwest. Author of “Gardening in Washington and Oregon,” and syndicated columnist Marianne Binetti will also present.

Admission is $3; kids under 12 are free. The show is produced and presented by the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Wells Fargo Bank, Prudential Northwest Real Estate, Bainbridge Gardens, Bad Blanche Collections/Northwest Design Center, Absolute Concrete Works, and the Bainbridge Review and Kitsap Newspaper Group.
