| Preservation of the former Heronswood Nursery property in Kingston recently received a boost. The Kitsap Community Foundation (KCF) announced that the “Friends of Pacific Northwest Horticultural Conservancy (PNHC) Fund” has been established to support preservation of the internationally renowned botanical garden and plant collection. The goal is to establish a community-based, self-sustaining horticultural research and education center. PNHC consists of volunteer garden enthusiasts, educators and plant experts locally and nationally, who have combined to raise funds to purchase the former Heronswood Nursery property.
