With EKO-System in place, Washington State counties will be able to more efficiently track and store monitoring data linked to noxious weed infestations, including individual weed species by common name, botanical name, and size of infestation; specific and general herbicides applied; effects of applied herbicides; and reported sightings. It is already in use with Kitsap County for noxious weed management with great success.

County Commissioner Chris Endresen declared, “EKO-System is a fantastic product for our restoration effort. It is capable of bringing coordination to all of our field data, and turning it into one manageable database where we can easily see all of the vital field work being done. I truly feel that this is a breakthrough in the way that environmental data is processed.”

Other Washington counties, such as Walla Walla and Chelan, as well as several conservation districts, tribes, and not-for profit organizations are currently implementing EKO-System. The product is not merely applicable to noxious weed management; it is also being applied to grant management and natural resource management, among other functions.
