Mor Mor Bistro hosts second annual
charity dinner and wine auction
Mor Mor Bistro in downtown Poulsbo recently hosted its second annual Wine Auction and Charity Dinner. The event is sponsored by Mor Mor owners John and Laura Nesby and raises money for local charities, including Relay for Life, the Kitsap Humane Society and the Poulsbo Historical Society.

But this year two new charities were added to the bill for reasons close at heart to the Nesby family. The event had been delayed from the original date back in June due to the unexpected premature birth of the Nesby’s first child. After spending 97 days in neonatal intensive care units at multiple hospitals, the two-pound baby boy named Oen Michael Nesby finally made it home to Poulsbo where he is thriving and making up for his rough start.

After the emotional experience during the summer of 2006, John and Laura decided to round up some of Poulsbo’s finest to attend their rescheduled Charity Dinner and Wine Auction.

The night featured: live music and dancing, a four course chef’s dinner, silent auction, holiday raffle and Mor Mor’s “Nearly Famous” Annual Live Wine Auction with Chef and owner John Nesby as the auctioneer. The Nesbys added the March of Dimes and Ronald McDonald House Charities to the bill in order to give back to the two charities that helped them with temporary housing and vital aid while Laura spent her summer in California caring for Oen.

The night was a rousing success and a true party celebrating the giving spirit of the season. This year’s auction raised nearly $9,800, which the Nesbys will share with the various organizations.
