Bremer Trust Trustees announced that they have transmitted $325,000 to the Olympic College (OC) Board for the Colleges use within the guidelines of the legal Trust agreements. The amount of the contribution this year is $25,000 larger than the 2005 transmittal.
Each year the Bremer Trust forwards the proceeds from the investment of the Trust assets to the College. This years sum brings the overall total, since the beginning of the Trust, in excess of $5 million.
Betti Sheldon, Bremer Trust trustee said that she and her fellow trustees are very pleased to be part of this historical contribution to the College. Over the years the Bremer Trust has provided the College with money to support scholarships, faculty awards, development of the Automotive Technology center, the Hazelwood Library, and most recently the new addition to the Bremer Student Center.
Sheldon added that the specific language in the Trust documents requires that this money stay in the local community to help the local College and its students. When asked how the $325,000 would be spent this year, Sheldon acknowledged that the Bremer Trustees might have some suggestions in the future, but that the OC Board makes the final decision.
